A sneak peek to help you prepare for Christmas!

Hello my blogging friends!  I have a sneaky peek for you today!  This little quick and easy ornament idea was made using a  stamp called O Christmas Tree Carol Background, releasing at Our Daily Bread designs on Oct. 1!  The added pinecones are from a past release, called Sacred Season.  I'm sorry the lighting is not good on this photo.  I tried taking it inside, outside, in light, in shade...and could not capture the glitter on the snow!  Anyway... I just wanted to show how easy it is to work with musical backgrounds to make quick fun gifts and decor. I'll have more gift ideas coming shortly... so I hope you'll be back for that!

I got the inspiration for this ornament from Pinterest.   All I did was stamp with Memento ink on Gina K Ivory card stock, sponged generously with T Holtz Distress Inks.  I cut the paper about an inch longer on both ends than it needed to be, cut my thin dowel rod to the length I wanted, sanded lightly, sponged with Distress ink, and I rolled the card stock around the dowels, adhering with Aileen's Jewelry Glue.  It's not necessary to use anything that strong, but I had it and decided to use it.  I don't have to worry about this baby unrolling! LOL!  I stamped the pinecone images from Sacred Season with Memento, colored with Copics, added white ink, then added white stickles for a nice sparkle.  The twine seemed the right embellishment for a kind of rustic feel.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

That's it for today!  I hope you all have a most blessed weekend!

The little brad is also T Holtz.  Very simple, but it was for my hubby so I needed to keep it masculine.

Here are the stamps I used:

Keep Climbing!

Hello friends!  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend!  It's raining here and I'm loving it!  There's a touch of fall in the air and it's my favorite season of the year!  I can't wait for the leaves to start turning!

I wanted to share a card I made for this week's sketch challenge on SCS.  I used two of this month's release sets from Our Daily Bread designs, as well as one older set. The new sets are Keep Climbing and Mountain The older set is Bird Border and Corners. I wanted to go monochromatic so I stamped with Memento London Fog ink on Flourishes White, and did some sponging of clouds and edges. My base is Mark's Finest Papers - Mossy Sage. The Spellbinders I used are Mega Ovals and Scalloped Mega Ovals. I used a SU! corner rounder punch, and three Carl punches for my little floral embellie. I had fun with this one as I love layers, yet I kept it simple and quick in design. Although I love to color.... it's nice to just stamp too!

Don't you love this sentiment?  I can attest to it's truth!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Craft a Scene -  must include a Scene -  Trees, Trees, Trees, Crafty-Emblies -Picture Perfect (I think this is the perfect photo I'd love to take), No Matter Which Challenges - Die Cuts and/or Punches, Di's Digis Designs Use more than one die cut or punch,Word Art Wednesday - use the free digi Scripture or any encouraging sentiment/Scripture.

Well, that's it for me today!  I hope you find yourself on the highest mountain this week!

Mr & Mrs!

Hello friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  The weather here is so beautiful right now I just wish I felt a little more up to working in the yard, because that's what I'd love to be doing right now!  Anyway... a friend asked me to make a wedding card for her niece, and I really was worried because I have very few wedding stamps.  However, I did manage to pull this old set out by American Crafts.  It's a clear set and I had never used it... but I have to say it stamps like a dream!  I stamped on Flourishes card stock with VersaFine ink and layered up my Spellbinders Labels 4 and Decorative Labels 4.  I am enjoying playing with my new toys!  The ribbon trim is a gift from a sweet friend.

I am entering this in the following challenges
Make it Monday - always Anything Goes,  Stamps & Fun = CreativityShaped cards, The Cutie Pie ChallengeNO Flowers, The Pink Elephant - Wedding/Anniversary,  Totally Stampalicious - Ribbon,  Challenges 4 EverybodyAnything Goes, Dream Valley Challenges - Something Old, Something New (new dies, old stamp set), No Matter Which ChallengesDie Cuts and/or Punches, That Craft Place -  Black and White, The Hybrid Chick Card Caravan -  Pop It Up

Take Heart!

Hello friends!  Happy Weekend!!!  I'm excited because I'll get to see my kids/ grandkids this weekend and that's ALWAYS a special joy!

Today I'm sharing a card I made using this month's special release of Scripture Series 3!  This is a special set because every year we hold a Customer Contest where YOU submit verses and or sentiments/ quotes you would like to use on a card, and the winners not only get to get the set free, but they get to guest design for the release, sharing a card they made with "their" verse.  To see the release and the customer cards created with this set, see THIS POST

I have to say... the verses in this particular set are among some of my all time favorites!  Soooo perfect for cards!

So this card was especially fun because I just got some new Spellbinders Dies and this is the first card I created using Decorative Labels One.  What fun pretty frames!!!

I stamped with Memento Ink on Flourishes white card stock, cut with SB Label One.  I cut the base for the card with SB Labels One Grand, so  the whole card is shaped, though a little of that base is hidden by my Cheery Lynn Dutch Scallop Frame.  The designer paper is from a $1.00 Paula Deen pack at Michael's.  I made up the stick pins with some beads I had on hand, added some bling and then the seam binding ribbon and Recollections flower.  This was  a super quick card but I'm pleased with the "feel" of it.  I hope you enjoyed it!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
In the Pink - lots of pink plus anything but square, My Heart Pieces Digital Stamps Challenge -  Lots of layers, Paper Crafting Journey - Anything Goes, Shelly's Images -  Anything goes, Crafts and Me - #100 add a flower, My Mum's Craft shop -  anything goes

Have a BLESSED weekend!!!

With God, All things are Possible!

Hello my friends!  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!  I didn't really get much done because my back and sciatic nerve is still hurting, but I did manage to create one quick card to share with you.  I made this with this month's Our Daily Bread designs release, Be Joyful.

Isn't this a fun set?  I just love it!!!  I used Memento Ink on Flourishes card stock, and then just colored the centers of my flowers with a yellow Copic marker.  I used the larger image for the bg, and the smaller one for my sentiment panel, which I then cut out with the ODBD Custom SB Die, Elegant Ovals.  I matted the sentiment panel with a SB Lacey Oval die using a scrap of yellow from my scrap box.  I cut SB Romantic Rectangles for my outer border, piecing two together on a pattern match, since my card is square and needed a second section.  I stamped a border inside the card as well, just to give some extra life to the otherwise pure white card.  The sheer ribbon is from my stash forever,( so I'm entering this card in Use it Tuesdays)... and I added a butterfly made from a silk flower and ribbon as well as some bling.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Papelito's Stamps  Anything Goes, Through The Craft Room Door  - Always Anything Goes, Tuesday Alchemy -Anything Goes,
Twist Of Faith Card Challenges - Must include an inspirational sentiment or scripture - #1  Joy (This set is called Be Joyful, and my verse is one of joy), Use It Tuesdays - must use hoarded supply's   Use That Ribbon,Make it Monday - always Anything Goes, Paper Pretties - Create a Square Card Word are Wednesday - Scripture or encouraging words... this week thinking of Paula as she fights the battle of serious illness, as are many others.... I thought this verse was perfect!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  This is pretty CAS for me, but I like it and it was done in a flash, and I really need to do a bunch right now for the card rack, so I have a feeling this set is going to be VERY well used!
Have a blessed week!

Sept. Release Blog Hop!

Hello friends!  Welcome to the  Our Daily Bread designs Sept. release blog hop!  I have had so much fun playing with this month's new sets and I think you're going to love them too!

If you got here from Sabrina's Scrumptious blog, you are in the right place!  If not you might want to pop on over to the  ODBD Blog to start at the beginning so you don't miss any thing!

Briefly, the Blog hop details:
  • Hop will run from 8am EDT Sept 1 til 8pm Sept 2
  • To qualify for a prize simply hop to each blog, leave a comment and return to the ODBD Blog to tell us you completed the hop and which set you loved best!
  • Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Sept 3
  • There will be FOUR FANTASTIC PRIZES!  Three winners will win their choice of one free set and one blessed blogger will win the entire Sept. Bread Basket Bundle!
Now... on to my card.  I used Keep Climbing to create this side step card.  I stamped the image four times, masking one on the front panel so I could continue the image across the entire panel. I colored the scene with Copics and the sky with my SU! Pastel Chalks, simply sponging on various colors until I had achieved the look I wanted.  I cut out the panels and adhered to my layers, giving the sense of many rows of mountains.  Once assembled,  I spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist which helps set the chalk, and gives a nice glimmer to the scene too.

For my sentiment panel I matted it with another piece of card stock and colored it the same way for a little extra pop, then matted that with my white card stock.  To emboss my sentiment panel,  since it did not fit any of my rectangular Spellbinders just right, I cut the panels and then hand embossed the border with a larger Spellbinders tall rectangle, and my embossing stylus on a soft embossing pad.  My only embellishments are some little pearls and a bow made with Martha Stewart ribbon.

Here is the set I used:

Now I will send you on your way to the next stop.... Becca's Beautiful Blog!  Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!
