For my card, I decided to do an Easel Card design, and I'm spotlighting three different stamp sets.  The small single cross I used on the background and behind the quote on the top is from Antique Label Designs, and the quote is from one of the 5th Anniversary release, Quote Collection 3.   The Scripture on the "inside" is from Scripture Collection 11, and  used Flower Border for my sentiment.  This border is one of my favorites, and it is made to perfectly fit Spellbinders Labels 18.

I cut my "inside" verse with ODBD's Custom Antique Labels & Border die.  The lattice trim is from SB Lace Doily Motifs and Accents.

My designer paper is Websters Pages Ladies & Gents/ Trendsetters pack.  I stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copics.  I added seam binding and  pearls to finish it off pretty simply.

A sneak peek!

Hello friends!  Today I have a sneak peek for you!

This week's  color challenge on SCS was simply yummy! I had to play along with this fabby image to be released by Our Daily Bread designs April 1. This is called Finch Collage, and let me tell you, it is just one of many fun things coming soon!

I used SB Grand Labels 4 for my tag base, embossed the middle mat and inked with distress ink, then I stamped with Memento and colored with Copics as close to the colors as possible... More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise and Daffodil yellow. I added wrinkled seam binding, a Prima flower, stick pin and charms to the top.

Thanks so much for looking!  Hope to see you April 1, when no foolin... we have an awesome hop prepared for you!!!

Blessings,

Together Forever

ODBD Stamps, Sentiments Collection 2, Crocheted Background, Serve the Lord, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello friends!  I hope you are doing well!!!  I am popping in to share a card I made for a couple challenges.  This is not my usual style, but hey, this is how we broaden our abilities, right?  I have been really trying hard to learn how to do clean and simple in a pleasing way, and it's just not that easy for me!  LOL!  So anyway... here I have used two wonderful sentiments from one of this month's 5th Anniversary Release from ODBD, Sentiments Collection 2.  I thought that both these sentiments went together perfectly, and the map dp from K&Co made a great backdrop for them.  I also stamped the Crocheted Background on my base in THoltz Antique Linen for a soft effect.  The crocheted circle and lace border are both from the Serve The Lord set, and I used the custom ODBD dies for both of them, Crocheted Border Die, and   Crocheted Circle Die.  The tag is a McGill punch and I added some MS twine.  Very simple... but I hope you like it!

A sketch and a rose

ODBD Stamps, Scripture Collection 11, Dahlia, Vine Background, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello friends!  I hope you are ready for a great weekend!

Today I have a card to share that I made using one of the ODBD 5th Anniversary sets, Scripture Collection 11.   I also used Dahlia and Vine Background.   I used the Sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches this week and  Stampin Royalty. Just briefly, I stamped the vine background on white card stock with Colorbox Khaki Green ink and cut my strips according to the sketch.

I stamped the Dahlia flower with Memento Angel Pink on my background and also on a panel for the sentiment.  I then overstamped my verse with black and cut with SB Marvelous Squares.

The kind of fun thing I did with this card was to play around with the ODBD Custom Antique Labels & Border die, specifically the border die, and made my rose with it.

While I'm reasonable happy with how it came out, I have some work to do before I can do a tutorial for you, as this one was a bit fussy and definitely not the easiest rose to make.  It was however a lot of fun!  I did an end to end double cut of the die, sponged both sides lightly with Angel Pink ink, spritzed with water, crumpled up to break some of the fibers to make it more pliable, and then rolled it around my piercer, pinching it up as needed to place the petals where I wanted them.  I did add some glue as I went to hold it whenever I had to pinch in a part of a petal.  If I get it down to a more precise science I will do a tutorial for you, but for now, I have a bit of work to do before I feel like I can explain it.  LOL!

I hope you have a blessed weekend!!!

I'm Here for you... Always

ODBD stamps, Sentiment Collection 2, Antique Label Designs, designed by Grace Nywening
Hello friends!  I'm back with another Spring card!  This one has colors that I just love!  I used one of the special 5th  Anniversary Releases from Our Daily Bread designs, Sentiments Collection 2.  I combined that with Antique Label Designs and the ODBD Custom Antique Labels and Border Die by Spellbinders.  I stamped the sentiment with Memento ink and the frame with Colorbox Pink Pigment Ink.  The dp is DaisyD (an older pack that I have been hoarding because I just love it!!!).  I used the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish, and most of my flowers are Wild Orchid.  I used a swiss dot embossing folder and an MS edge punch.  A fairly simple quick design, but I must admit I like this one.  I'm ready to see these colors growing in my garden!!!

Spring Has Sprung!

ODBD stamps, Scripture Collection 11, Fancy Frames, designed by Grace Nywening

Hello friends!  I hope that where you live, spring is giving you the tantalizing little sneak peeks it's been giving here!  Last weekend we went over 70 and it was so nice!  My granddaughter was here and we had fun doing girly things that actutally included doing some spring cleaning!  I love that she actually wants to do some work!  Oh don't get me wrong... she loves to play, but she loves to help too!  So we enjoyed getting outside and cleaning some windows, porch railings and did some gardening.  That of course was followed by girly movies and playing dolls! What fun!!!

Anyhoo... I wanted to play in a few challenges I love, and I made this card for this week's Shining the Light Challenge on the ODBD blog, and I used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch. I wanted to play in Lisa's Bloggers Challenge - Think Spring, and  I also am entering this in Word Art Wednesday, which always is Anything Goes with Scripture or an encouraging sentiment, and there's always a free word art for you too!  I am also entering it in: The Squirrel & the Fox -  Autumn or Spring,
Sentimental Sundays - must include a Sentiment - Anything Goes,  Opus Gluei -  Spring has Sprung,
Glitter n Sparkle - Easter/Spring Colours,

My springy card is all made with cream card stock, and the Scripture is from the newly released ODBD 5th Anniversary set, Scripture Collection 11.  (Don't you love this one?!)  I stamped it with Memento Bamboo ink, then I stamped the frame from the Fancy Labels set, which is made to fit the Spellbinders Labels 17.  I stamped that with Pigment Ink and then heat embossed with pink embossing powder from Stampendous.  I cut it out with the Spellbinders Label 17, then using a SB Petite Oval, I cut out the middle and popped it up over my sentiment panel.  My background is a Cuttlebug Embossing folder which I inked on the negative side with THoltz Spun Sugar before running it through.  The lower background panel is a hand cut from surrounding a Spellbinders Fancy Lattice Die which I inked with Memento Bamboo before I cut it out.  This gave just a hint of green at all the cut edges.  I added some green lace and beaded flowers, and a May Arts bow and I was almost done... but not quite!  I felt it needed something more so I stamped the dragonfly from the Faithful Friend set, inked a tad with pink, and cut out. Here are the sets I used:

Hello everyone!  Welcome to the Our Daily Bread designs 5th Anniversary Release Hop!  Each year, Kelley allows each of her design team members to submit a Scripture Verse, a sentiment or a quote, and those submissions are made into the Anniversary sets.  Today's hop will show most of those submissions, and we truly hope you love them as much as we do!

Here are the details of the hop:

  • To qualify for one of these prizes, simply hop to each designer, leave a comment and return to the ODBD blog to let us know you finished the hop, if you had any problems along the way, and most of all, leave your congratulations on this big milestone for Kelley and Rick!
Now... on to my card and the verse I submitted:

ODBD Stamps, Scripture Collection 10, designed by Grace Nywening

I submitted Heb. 13:5B.. Never will I leave you, Never will I forsake you.  I always try to think of verses that will be comforting, uplifting, encouraging or in some way say just the right thing to the person I'm sending a card to, and this verse often comes to mind.  I'm so excited to have it in a stamp now for all those times it's needed!

This verse is in Scripture Collection 10, shown below.

I heat embossed my sentiment with fine detail silver embossing powder.  I cut it out with a Spellbinders Antique Frames & Accents, and matted that on alternating brushed silver and white layers cut with Spellbinders Resplendent rectangles.  On 2 layers I lightly sponged pink ink and I added tiny little pink silk roses from ZVA Creative.   I didn't feel anything else was needed... no bows, no pearls.... just the little flowers surrounding a wonderful verse!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and now I will send you on to our Sweet Sabrina, where I know you will be wowed!
